Founding Team

Dr. Lan Huang

Dr. Huang has been a serial entrepreneur in the biotechnology industry in China and the United States for the past decade. Prior to co-founding MTLH, she has worked closely with Chinese pre-clinical and clinical CROs to speed drug discovery and development at lower costs, and sold a CRO company (Beijing, China) she co-founded to RPS, a public listed CRO company in the US with annual revenue over $200 M USD. Dr. Huang was the CEO and co-founder of Beyond ML Groups (New York, NY), which successfully provided product management services to large US pharma and premium biotech companies, and has successfully transferred U.S. technologies to China. She has helped obtain marketing approvals in China for U.S. medical devices and an oncology drug, which are now being sold in China markets.

Dr. Huang was a Research Fellow and a founding member of the Research Fellow Advisory Board at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Her translational research discoveries with therapeutic implications were published in very prestigious journals such as Science and Nature. Dr. Huang received her B.A., Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Lawrence University. She was additionally educated at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. She won the graduating Ph.D. Woman Award from the "Soroptimist International” organization.

Mr. Hua Zhou

Mr. Zhou has been a veteran entrepreneur in China for biopharmaceuticals, with over 15 years of industry experience. Prior to co-founding MTLH, he has brought a few biologics from R&D to NDA approval in China. He is experienced in company management and operation, exemplified by the success of companies he co-founded before. His previous company Shanghai Bai-yao sold its vaccine products to large pharma in China with good return. He is an expert in product development, manufacturing, and regulatory approval in China.

Mr. Zhou graduated with a Biology major from Shanghai Jiaotong University. He was a Research Fellow at Changchun Biopharmaceutical Research Institute, one of the best research center for biologics.

Dr. Michael Chen

Dr. Chen has over 15 years of extensive pharmaceutical industry experience in drug development with many successful NDA filings. He additionally successfully engineered a sale of a sleep-disorder biotech company for over $200 M in the US.

Prior to MTLH, Dr. Chen was President and co-founder of Beyond ML Groups (New York, NY). Dr. Chen is in charge of a broad range of CRO services in the areas of: product evaluation, project management, pre-clinical, and all phases of clinical studies. Beyond enjoyed an impressive client list including many largest international pharmaceutical companies. Beyond has successfully brought an oncology drug and numerous other products to the market. Prior to Beyond, Dr. Chen held positions with increasing responsibilities in Wyeth and Novartis.

Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics from State University of New York at Binghamton.
